I come to you today, FATHER, an empty vessel, cracked and leaking. These are not just energy leaks, but I hear bitterness coming out in my words and feel a deep sadness in my soul. Lord Jesus, be my POTTER this day. Repair and reshape this marred vessel that I may be filled to overflowing with your HOLY SPIRIT. (Jeremiah 18:4) I praise you, GOD, for continuing to empower me for caregiving.  Thank you for not giving up on this stubborn lump of clay, but cleansing me with the water of the WORD that I might again respond to the gentle pressure of your fingers upon my soul. (Ephesians 5:26)

Enable me to walk in today’s caregiving tasks, LORD, with an eternal focus on our relationship. (John 17:3) There is work to be done, but let me do it moved with your compassion, and not by my need to be productive. (Matthew 9:36)  Cleanse me of the pride and self-importance that might make the one I care for feel hurried, unwelcome or a burden in my life. (1 Peter 5:6)  May I serve them and you as humbly as you served me.  Let me not be easily offended or distracted, so I may hear your SHEPHERD’S voice speaking to my heart. (John 10:3-4) Put me on your time table, LORD. You are the one who teaches us to number our days that we might gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)

When my eyes see the decay and frailties of a sick or aging body, let my spirit recognize you at work in the inner man. (II Corinthians 4:16) Your plans far exceed the workings of disease, a lifespan, or the statistics of survival and recovery.  (Jeremiah 29:11)  Give me the vision to see across the generations, to the dawn of civilization when you created us in your image.  You are the ALPHA AND THE OMEGA. (Revelation 22:13)  Lift my eyes far above the judgments reigning upon this sinful earth to see your grace played out day by day. How I praise you for the mercy of Calvary, and the tearing of the veil.  (Matthew 27:51)  I boldly approach your throne of grace.   (Hebrews 4:16)  How I long to see your ultimate glory.  Today, be my ILLUMINATOR and reveal to me just a portion of your grace and glory to renew my hope.  In the name of JESUS, the OVERSEER OF MY SOUL, Amen
