I want Christmas to be about Jesus’ birthday, O’ Holy Night, the second chapter of Luke, and the humble human beginnings of our Messiah and Savior. He is the gift that matters, the gift that changes everything, our gift of HOPE. Given our profit-driven shopping season, however, it can be quite a challenge to focus on Jesus as the reason for the season! Are you ever tempted to get a bit miffed about the myth of Santa, the North Pole, his sleigh and all those presents? Ebenezer Scrooge tempts me!

Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus AKA David & Bev Alley

Then I remember the wonderful adage . . . Santa Claus is anyone who helps us celebrate Jesus’ birthday. Some folks (David and Bev Alley) do that really well, so well they honor Jesus in the process of delighting little children and some rather large ones as well. They live and celebrate this life in HOPE of the next. Let’s join them.

HAPPY JESUS’ BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

The Heritage of Hope team prays you celebrate Jesus’ birthday this year by receiving His gift of new or renewed HOPE:

    • HOPE is the fuel that enables us to keep going; may yours be deeply replenished. Romans 15:13
    • Faith is HOPE in action; may God give you courage and conviction to enact his every prompting. Psalms 31:24
    • Love is HOPE expressed; may you be given expression uniquely suited to each recipient. Romans 5:5
    • Jesus Christ is our HOPE. Hebrews 6:19

Romans 15:13 Now may the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit. Psalms 31:24 Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who HOPE in the Lord. Romans 5:5 Now HOPE does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Hebrews 6:19 This HOPE we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil. Amen.
